As the US housing crunch continues to intensify, lumber prices continue to soar. This year Logix Brands is once again proud to support Habitat for Humanity in its mission to build quality, affordable housing.
What Does Habitat for Humanity Do?
Habitat for Humanity International is the largest non-profit builder in the world. The organization has built or repaired homes for close to 30 million families globally since its foundation in 1976 and continues to provide shelter and infrastructure for people in need in over 70 countries. Habitat runs various programs to alleviate the need for housing and relies on volunteers for labor and corporate donors for materials.
Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter’s Work Project
Habitat’s work has attracted numerous high-profile figures over the years, including former US President and First Lady Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter. The Carters came up with an annual “housing blitz” initiative, during which Habitat builds a select number of homes in a specified location. In 2017, Habitat’s 34th Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project partnered with Beaver Plastics and Element ICF to help deliver 150 homes to Canadian families.
It wasn’t the first time Logix manufacturers stepped in to help. For years, Logix manufacturers have supplied complimentary and discounted ICF forms, accessories, training, and even labor to support Habitat’s mission. As Andy Lennox, president of Logix Brands, points out:
“For the last 20 years or more, our regional manufacturing locations have been very supportive of local Habitat For Humanity chapters and their initiatives. We think Habitat does great work for a great cause and we are very pleased to support them.”

Habitat’s 2021 Project: Up to 50 ICF Homes in 50 States
In 2021, Habitat For Humanity is partnering with Build With Strength — a coalition of the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) — to build up to 50 ICF homes in 50 states for Americans in need.
The Insulating Concrete Forms Manufacturers’ Association (ICFMA) have joined the effort and Logix, as an ICFMA member, will provide free and discounted Logix ICF materials, technical support, and training to about 10 of these projects over the next three years. Three of these projects are scheduled to take place in 2021 alone and they are located in Portland, ME, Des Moines, IA, and Rice Country, MN.
Thanks to the involvement of ICF, this year’s homes will be particularly strong, durable, and better suited to resist natural disasters, such as tornadoes, floods, fires, and earthquakes.
